Horseback Riding Beaver Meadows Resort Ranch offers extensive year round STABLE SERVICES. We do it all including: one and two hour rides, round pen pony rides, half day horseback rides, full day horseback rides and overnight horseback rides, breakfast and dinner steak fry rides, riding instruction, youth horse day camp (Junior Wrangler Camp), long and short-term horse boarding, covered wagon rides & sleigh rides, winter horseback rides, and much more. to the naturally established
population of Brown and Brook
trout, we stock Beaver Meadows Resort Ranch features three improved fishing/casting ponds that are mere footsteps from our restaurant and lodging facilities. They are ideal for the novice angler and a joy to the seasoned angler due to the sheer abundance of trout that they hold. For the more adventurous, just a short trek from the base facilities places you amongst a maze of beaver ponds ... within whose willows is the home of the wild Colorado Brook Trout. These creatures are a beautiful and tasty prize for those with the patience and skill to stalk them. In addition to the fishing opportunities we offer, there are five public lakes within a fifteen minute drive. Tackle Sales- So here you are, in the heart of Colorado trout country, and all your fishing gear is at home. No problem! Our Gift Shop sells rod and reel packages as well as hand tied flies, assorted lures, specialty items, and other angler necessities. The only thing we can't provide is luck, so bring that with you! Passes and Regulations Fishing Passes - Beaver Meadows' Fishing Passes are required to fish on our ponds, streams and river. Proceeds from our fishing passes go towards stocking fish, patrolling, and stream improvement. Children aged 6 and under accompanied by a paying adult are FREE!
Just want a quick refresher on spinning a spinning rod or sample of fly fishing? Ever wanted to learn how to use a bait caster? Our one-hour fishing lesson will get you started on the right foot! Learn the basics of working a fly rod, how to operate the reel, which lures and flies to use and when and much more. Let our experienced fishing instructors show you just how easy it is to enjoy the sport and give you the knowledge and direction to sharpen that enjoyment. Choose between our private lessons or bring along the whole family for a group lesson and a discounted rate! Please be sure to bring your own fishing gear! Fishing Trips Bring your friends and enjoy one of our guided fishing trips together. Choose from our 4-hour "Half Day Guided Fishing Trip" or our 8-hour "Full Day Guided Fishing Trip". Each guided fishing trip includes a Beaver Meadows Resort Ranch one-day fishing pass for your trip. Learn, review, or fine-tine your skills: basic casting for the river, retrieval techniques, netting a fish securely, knot tying, stay on top of changing water conditions, and fish movement. Advance Reservations Required Half Day Guided Fishing Trip Full Day Guided Fishing Trip In addition to our extensive horseback riding and fishing programs, we also offer mountain biking on our 25-mile circuit trail system, touring both private lands and the Roosevelt National Forest by special permit. This system loops into hundreds of miles of US Forest Service trails. With beginner, intermediate and advanced trails, we offer something for everyone from the novice to the serious athlete. If you have your own bike, come on up! There is no charge for individuals to use our trails. Recommended maps are National Geographic Topo Map #111 and the Roosevelt National Forest Map. Just check in at our Gift Shop & Office so that we can offer you trail options and discuss which trails are being used for horseback riding that day. Hike and explore our backyard. Whether it's a relaxed stroll around the ponds and through the meadow or a serious hike onto our 25-mile circuit trail system, which leads into the Roosvelt National Forest. Our system was desinged by cross-country ski olympian Larry Martin. The trails are designated beginner, intermeidate and advanced. There is no charge for individuals to use our trails. Recommended maps are National Geographic Topo Map #111 and the Roosevelt National Forest Map.
